Why cooling towers are felled as a sequence, and how KTPS took eight — including four at once — inside an operating station.

A natural-draft cooling tower looks light and weighs thousands of tonnes. Drop it as a spectacle and the air-blast will talk to every condenser on the pad. Drop it as a sequence and the station keeps its limits.
At KTPS Kothagudem we took eight shells in one campaign, including four at once — a first in India — on staggered millisecond delays. Each shell seated in its own debris field. The plant limits held.
The design question is not ‘can you bring them down’. It is ‘can you bring them down inside the PPV and air-blast numbers the station already lives with’. That number is the job.
